For the past 23 Years, the Concerned Calumet Citizens Committee (C.C.C.C.) has brought the community together to celebrate our Annual Calumet Day Weekend. Last year again over 4,000 people were in attendance. The residents enjoyed a parade throughout the neighborhood, followed by festivities and a picnic in the park (East Chicago Riley Park). Everyone, both young and old, enjoyed one another’s company with past and present families, friends and neighbors. The children enjoyed the New Kid’s Zone, which consisted of eight large inflatables rides, face painting and pony rides. Over 300 school book bags with supplies were also given to the children from the Calumet Community. The committee provided free food and beverages and great live entertainment for the youth and adults.
